Background to 1-2-3-4-5
I started developing my vision of a property portal about 10 years ago.
As part of that development I amassed a database of estate agents, international realtors, property developers, builders and other companies working in the property world.
I looked at other sites that show those details and what really irritated me was that so much of their information was out-of-date. Companies come and go and change - in particular, their websites are very dynamic - they come and go.
I realised that I had to build a system that monitors external sites and updates automatically without the necessity for human intervention.
So that is where the basic idea for screenshooting comes from.
I already owned the 1-2-3-4-5 and 5-4-3-2-1 domains and to offer screenshooting as a service seems sensible and to keep them on separate platforms gives it power.
After I built the screenshooting system I noticed that WebTimelapse is a useful service because it shows how websites and companies change. In my opinion the web is like a universe in itself and what is changing within it gives scope for photography, just like the real world. It's actually quite challenging to get good pictures of websites.
That's why these sites specialise in the property world.
